Charles A. Harding

Charles A. Harding was the second Eagle Scout of Troop 201, receiving Scouting's highest honor in 1933 and adding a Bronze Palm in 1934.

An excellent student and outstanding athlete at Olmsted Falls High School, Harding began a career in business and banking upon graduation. He answered the call of his country in 1941, beginning as an infantry private and rising to the rank of captain by 1943.

He helped form the 612th Tank Destroyer Battallion and landed in Normandy on June 15, 1944. The recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters, Harding died of wounds received in action August 3, 1944.
