Summer Camp

It's June, school's out and Summer Camp beckons. Twenty two scouts and three adults made the annual visit to Seven Ranges Scout Reservation in the rolling hills of Carroll County.

During the week in camp scouts worked on merit badges and rank advancement and, of course, earned their camp honors. Seven new scouts and rookie Assistant Scoutmaster Dave Hebda earned their first year Pipestone. The Pipestone camp honors program and its 73 years of tradition in the Buckeye Council along with the excellent programs is what keeps Troop 201 coming back year after year.

The troop hosted Phil Snyder, the Senior Patrol Leader of a Pennsylvania troop attending as an SPL2B. This program allows a Senior Patrol Leader to attend camp with another troop and earn merit badges and his camp honor before returning to lead his own troop.

Phil made instant friends with all the members of thr Troop and was a great help with the young scouts.

The Troop camped in the Blue Jacket site this year during the second of eight summer camp sessions. Reservations are already made for the same time and campsite next year.
